Cat Jams Label has donated $100 to the Hurricane Katrina relief fund. I chose to donate to Mississippi's state recovery fund. The Guardian has links to lists of charitable organizations; most of them have a minimum donation of just $5. MoveOn.org is pushing for an independent Katrina committee investigation rather than a Republican-headed one. I wouldn't bother signing the internet petition; a very brief letter to the editor takes only a little more work to type and actually does something.

It's my birthday fool! Send me an image!
And if you're in town, my birthday celebration will be at Ragtag on Sunday (tomorrow) at 10:30 PM. It will be a free movie screening, but due to legal reason, I cannot tell you what the movie is. Please email me for more info if you'd like it. But I can tell you that it is free, will last about 3 hours, will be hilarious (aspecially late at night), and will feature a prerecorded split video/audio performance by Tape Store. Please do come and invite your friends. I will try to have cake.
Here's my present to you: the audio from my performance at Ragtag several months ago, doing a (three times) live recording of Toshi's 'Breaking Through'. It's funny, but also sad because I thought I was gonna sing good.
Also, goodbye to the Cat Jams Unpaid Intern. May he have a good experience in Americorps*NCCC Southeast Campus as I did. Thanks for everything you've done for Cat Jams, Aaron!
(also, goodbye Zach McLuckie Sabertoothpows (Chicago art school), Tim Kaiser Miamidragons (chicago something), Ben Cianciosi Miamidragonsnotinlovewithyous (Oakland, randomly), John Gilbreth Ohyeahhedwigarthur (Brazil), Giavanna Accurso (also Brazil), Olivia Wyatt (New York photo internship), Chris Keener Ohyeah (Japan, eventually), probably others too. It feels like half of Columbia is gone or going! At least none of the cool people left. Ha ha. Good luck to all of you in your many endeavors, and don't forget to write.
